As a convenience to the child care parents, line up emergency backup care before it’s needed. Ask a friend, neighbor, or relative if she would do an occasional day of child care in your home if you are ill or out of town. Be sure to follow your state guidelines for substitute care and explain the process in your parent-provider contact.
